Begin the journey at Ginkakuji, famously known as the “Silver Pavilion”. Its beauty comes not from silver decoration, but from its refined simplicity and harmony with the surrounding landscape. Walk through the temple grounds and admire the carefully designed gardens with Zen and peaceful atmosphere. During autumn, the surrounding maple trees add brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold.
Continue along Tetsugaku no Michi, or the Philosopher’s Path. This famous walking route let you listen to the sound of the water, while enjoying the quieter side of Kyoto and local atmosphere.
